About this Episode

Ron Wood [00:29]
"We All Get Old"
Gimme Some Neck
Columbia JC 35702 1979
Surprisingly this album made it to number 45 on the Top 200.

Agnetha Fältskog [04:38]
"Ge Dej Till Tåls (Are You Ready for Love)"
The Girls Want the Boys! Sweden's Beat Girls 1966-1970
Ace Records XXQLP 048 2016
A fun compilation of Swedish pop on white vinyl released by the good folks at Ace Records. I went with an early single from my favorite member of ABBA.

The Postal Service [06:57]
"Clark Gable"
Give Up
Sub Pop SP 595 2004
Hard not to choose an great song from this vinyl release. But I'm going with "Clark Gable" because I recently saw him play a baddy in William Wellman's Night Nurse with Barbara Stanwyck, Ben Lyon, and Joan Blondell

Glacial Tomb [11:51]
"Of Flesh and Worship"
Glacial Tomb
Gilead Media RELIC107 2018
Some Mile High death metal featuring members of Khemmis, Abigail Williams, and Cult of the Lost Cause.

R. Stevie Moore [17:42]
"Along Comes Mary"
Glad Music
Personal Injury Records PI 02 2015 (1986)
Killer cover from the DIY psych pop genius.

Death Valley Girls [20:36]
"Death Valley Boogie"
Glow in the Dark
Burger Records BRGR933 2016
Garage psych rockn and a-rolln goodness. On glow-in-the-dark vinyl, of course.

Krallice [23:10]
"Ground Prayer"
Go Be Forgotten
Gilead Media RELIC101 2017
Intricate blackened metal from NYC.

Trini Lopez [33:48]
"Sinner Not a Saint"
GoGo
Custom Records CS 1019 1966
Rockin number from the Texan singer/actor/guitar designer.

Village People [36:20]
"Go West"
Go West
Casablanca NBLP 7144 1979
Hope you like fire. Seriously though, this album made it up to number 8 on the Top 200. There's a pretty excellent version of this song by the Pet Shop Boys if you were not already familiar with it. Another one of those songs that could be done by the 3:30 mark, but hey... more is more.

Nat King Cole [40:31]
"Route 66"
Go with the Greats
National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences
Produced for Chevrolet. For some reason, this is the only automotive related song.

The Swingle Singers [43:28]
"Allegro (from the Concerto Grosso, Op. 6, No. 4, Händel)"
Going Baroque
Philips PHM 200-126 1964
I'm not sure what it is about these swingin' jazz arrangements, but it hits my aural sweet spot. Fun fact, which I'm sure I have mention before: Swingle Singers soprano Christiane Legrand is the aunt of Beach House's Victoria Legrand.

Harb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass [48:17]
"The 3rd Man Theme"
!!Going Places!!
A&M Records SP 4112 1965
What's almost as good as the orignal Third Man theme? This version.

Bee Gees [50:51]
"Massachussetts"
Gold
RSO RS-1-3006 1976
This song has definitely grown on me over time. Especially after hearing Dean & Britta covering it during one of their home quarantine concerts.

Creedence Clearwater Revival [53:16]
"Have You Ever Seen the Rain"
Gold
Fantasy 9418 1972
I would like to see the rain. The sooner the better.

Ian Matthews [55:54]
"Shake It"
Gold Rush '79 - Volume One
K-Tel TU 2660-1 1979
Disco from an original Fairport Convention member? Heck yeah!

Music behind the DJ: "Push the Button Max" by Henry Mancini
